I’m thrilled that the Sacred Whore herself, Melissa Gira, has a new Whorecast out: “What We Are at War.” It’s a brilliant piece of theatre, commentary, a thing of beauty; she does with sound what I try to do with rope. I can only imagine what she must be like in person…
My friend 5x5Guy has been plugging away with the new Queer Sex Weekly, and no, I’m not jealous that he’s got more listeners by his 4th show than I’ve ever had (or ever will have). Ah, the curse of being a niche podcaster…he’s doing a great job, and is especially looking for some kinky folks to interview (and I believe be part of a study, as well…so see, you can be Kinky for Science!).
Minx and I were lucky enough to meet Michelle Belanger at Ohio Leather Fest, and struck up a budding friendship. I almost got to see her for my birthday, but that was not to be; but when I tuned into her new podcast ShadowDance, I couldn’t stop smiling at hearing her warm voice coming through my headphones. She and her co-host will be exploring vampirism, magick, and other arts that lie somewhere outside the light…sounds like the start of something great.
And my very own minx is celebrating her one-year podcastiversary, and is looking for people to send her audio comments. You can hear her show at Polyweekly, or email her at cunningminx at gmail dot com. I’m so proud to be part of her success…
A correction, btw, courtesy of a listener. Claire Adams was, in fact, credited on the spread in Vanity Fair–just not in any place that one would notice enough. She deserves more. Then again…I’m biased.
