Graydancer, Ninja Sex Poodle & Ronin of Love, comes from the venerable rope bondage tradition of Madison, WI, where he honed his craft to become the world premiere podcaster of rope bondage with “the Ropecast”. He has presented (or is booked to present) at

…and many other events and venues. His writing has also been published in Secret, Power Exchange Magazine, and his novel “Nawashi” is available through Lulu.com. Currently he plies his trade as an itinerant Rope Artist and Kink Educator, smiting the evil of sloppy ends wherever they may lie.

Please note that the classes are not specific to rope; while that is my preferred medium, and I can certainly teach basic through advanced rope bondage techniques, I prefer to help the larger kink and leather community with concepts and methods that are universally applicable.

The Defining Moment: Getting What You Want Out of Kink

If you’re not sure what you think of rope…dump your preconceived notions and give this one a try. Graydancer is nationally known for the humor, sensuality, and ENERGY he brings to ropework, from the pretty to the practical. If you’re one who’d rather slap on the cuffs and get to the fun, this is a great way to discover the practicality, and erotic anticipation of rope. Whether you consider yourself an artist or sadist, a ropeslut, a painslut, or a damsel in distress…there’s something in rope for you.

This class is a variation on the usual “Rope 101-301″ The approach is going to be a practical one. What do you want to DO? Rather than start with what you saw in a picture or book, let’s focus on the results you want. Whether you want to tie for sex, for pretty, for pain, or some combination, the focus will be on how to DO what you want to do, using principles rather than “this is a granny knot” step-by-step processes. It’s a hands-on, you DO it, class with plenty of participation, and demonstrations on a beautiful model. The skill level of this class is appropriate for anyone from the rank beginner (what’s a knot) to Intermediate/advanced, because of its focus on practical skills and principles-based instruction. It will go up to, and demonstrate, semi-suspension work. Wear comfortable clothes, or none at all if the work calls for it. Just bring your own towels or blankets for sitting and play.

Military Style Bondage

Military-style bondage draws from the traditions of the samurai, the cavalry, the native Americans, special forces, and even various fictional sources to explore the fun of role-play in a Military style. Explore not only the physical forms of restraint and the reasoning behind them (including how to modify them for the safety and comfort of your “prisoner”) but also the psychological aspects of military discipline, interrogation techniques, and especially the methods of securing and manipulating the male body.

Fetish Performance Techniques

Let’s face it, some of us do rope not for the hot sexy flesh andcords, but because it looks COOL! This class will start with a demonstration of how NOT to stage a bondage performance (whether with rope or other toys). We’ll then discuss the aspects of performance that can apply to the art of fetish and bondage, using examples and workshopping it with participants. The class will close with an example of what Graydancer considers to be adequate performance technique, with the demonstrative help of his Filthy Assistant.

Hot Bondage

Like all my presentations it works on a pretty informal, interactive level. I’m going to be discussing getting back to the original thrill of why we do What It Is We Do, and also on ways to Do It More–not in terms of frequency, but intensity. How do we play on the feelings and turn them up to 11? I’ll also be talking about the flow of a scene–planning, negotiation, how to deal with the things that go differently than expected, and how to adjust and go with changes in emotion, intent, and energy. That sounds kind of frou-frou. It’ll all be in the context of “hot bondage”, though, and I promise there will be some fun stories, laughter, and you’ll come out of it wanting to tie someone (or be tied) soon!
