Great Video, but…WTF

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Courtesy of the amazing Zelle on Fetlife (whose gallery is absolutely devastating to anyone trying to focus on, well, anything other than fine asses) I found this video. While the music is a little too poppy, and the singer a little too tan-out-of-a-bottle, the blatant love of bondage in it makes me forgive all:

But here’s my question. YouTube: how does this fit your TOU and the Knotty Boys don’t? Huh?

Yes, but will there be rope?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

I’m really glad to see, in light of the recent moralistic purge that seems to be sweeping the land, that some of the most intelligent minds I’ve ever read or talked to are taking action. Specifically, twelve of NYC’s finest sex bloggers are going to be doing a pinup calendar:

“…to support Audacia Ray’s Sex Work Awareness Project. We are some of the New York area’s best and brightest, and we want to see the stigma associated with sex work and workers removed.

Audacia Ray

Desiree

Diva

Elizabeth Wood

Jamye Waxman

Lux Alptraum

Mariella

Rachel Kramer Bussel

Riese

Sinclair Sexsmith

Tess Danesi

Twanna A Hines

Now, I’ve met a few of these Wonder Women in person, and read their articles avidly. And considering that some other friends of mine were recently accused of sex work that they (in my opinion) didn’t even do (I’m sorry, but for THAT, you’d have to pay a LOT more) every bit of money and attention to the cause helps. I confess, I wish it wasn’t limited to just the NYC bloggers - my own personal favorite sex worker advocate/writer is in Ohio - but that can wait for next year, I suppose.

So, for right now, here’s what you can do:

  • Buy a Day with their very simple paypal buttons. Or a calendar (pre-order). Or a calendar and a day.
  • Tell other people about the blog. They’ve already got a hot pic of Masuimi Max on the page…this is going to be a fun project to follow.
  • Decide for yourself that that’s not enough, and go and donate to the SLDEF to benefit Mistress Ardenne’s fight to keep stupid people from preying on the Rapture folks.
  • Decide that even THAT’s not enough, and donate more to the NCSF.
  • Tell all your friends about it, and then go have an orgy to celebrate what’s left of your sexual freedom in this country.

How to Get Fame, Fortune, and the Hot Bi Babes

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

I’m here to share the secret with you, so pay attention. Rachel Kramer Bussel has known it for years, but it took me this long to figure it out, and I’m going to share it with you.

How do you get the hot bi babes: cupcakes.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Write a post putatively about the bondage technique of tying the breasts in “cupcake” fashion, but really a clever link to a site that you have an affiliate relationship with in the hopes of getting people to sign up for it and funnel cash into your burgeoning porn empire (OK, I’ll wait while you pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing at the phrase “burgeoning porn empire.”).
  2. Have the person illustrating said cupcakes, in this case Sabrina Fox, locate your site while vanity googling and have her decide your content is interesting enough to link with you on various social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.
  3. In the space of a few comments back and forth, invite her to an outdoor camping event. Cleverly imply that due to lack of space and time and convenience she should come early, to “rehearse” the performance you’re doing at the camp, and also that you should share a tent, since it gets cold in those Wisconsin campgrounds, and besides, you’re the perfect gentleman. Really.
  4. Proceed to spend most of a week with this person, and discover that there’s much more than just the hot sexy redhead to her. In fact, I’ll tell you a secret: the most charming thing she did was when I took her to Barnes & Noble and I literally had to drag her out of the used book section. Do I have to tell you how hot a fetish model bibliophile really is?
  5. Co-present several classes, from rough body play to suspension to ropes 101, start a clips4sale store with her boobs on video, do a podcast or two, and be so convincingly competent and fun that when she does an interview with Fleshbot, she actually mentions you by name.
  6. Being Fleshbotted is kind of like being Oprah’d: instant fame and fortune and servers crashing, offers from Angelina and Brad to please come teach them rope bondage, leading roles from Tarantino opposite Salma, and an invitation from Keanu to come play tambourine with his band at the House of Blues. Or an invitation to do a sock puppet scene with Lochai’s wife. Whichever comes first.

OK, admittedly, I’m still waiting on most of #6. But having just dropped her off at the airport, where she’s going home before embarking with the Awesomeness of RopeToppitude himself, Lew Rubens, to Munich for bondage at Oktoberfest, I can finally admit: having Sabrina Fox here in my clutches as a guest in my home for the past couple of weeks has been one of the great pleasures of my life.

And it all came about because of the cupcakes. So now you know.

Good luck.

Tunnel Vision

Monday, September 15th, 2008

At Spankfest, I was a busy, busy boy. I taught classes on thursday, friday, and a double on saturday (in tandem with Lqqkout, followed by a performance integrating suspension, fire play, stage combat, and more. The double class with Lqqkout was especially interesting - it was our first time presenting together (not counting demo bottoming for each other) and it was a class on suspension technique that we’d worked hard on putting together. It was, like all classes, a mish mash of our own opinions, both agreeing and disagreeing. For example, I believe in having as simple a hard point as possible - preferable rope over a beam, maybe a ring, whereas Lqqkout is fine using carabiners. Both of us are in agreement about things like panic snaps, and both of us love the swiss seat - but we tie it in different ways. Still, we filled the 4 hours with information and at the end we had people making each other fly - so it was a great success.

On Sunday, after the events’ closing ceremonies, my friends RoughInamorato and his wife Lil’ Boxer from Chicago asked if I would suspend her. A very petite, muscular blonde, Lil’ Boxer had only been suspended once before, and I was honored that they wanted me to do it. Even more fun was the fact that they were amenable to the idea of Sabrina Fox, my companion throughout the event, to being suspended along with her - two hot bi babes swinging in the air is one of the neatest things in the world, and when you add the fact that it was outdoors, it became even more fun.

The outdoor suspension points were gallows-style, made of thick logs going up about 15′ in the air. One was bare, the other had some leftover webbing and a simple locking winch strung with static climbing rope and a thick rated carabiner in it. I was tired, and so in spite of my desire for simplicity I decided I didn’t feel like stringing my own hard point, electing to use the carabiner and webbing for my hard points.

I put up Lil Boxer fairly quickly, in a face-up horizontal suspension using comfortable wide bands along with ankle supports (she was wearing lace-up Fluvogs, by the way, which added to the Hawtness). Her arms were free, because I wanted her to be able to grab and support herself as needed. Then I put a waist harness on Sabrina Fox, a quick swiss seat, and had her stand up on a bench, planning on hooking her carabiner on the harness to the thick one on the hard point.

Problem was, she was about three feet lower than that carabiner. I started to brainstorm on ways to safely and effectively get her up the last few feet:

  • Use a simple rope pulley to string between the two? Possibly, but it seemed a lot of work for just three feet.
  • Bring over another bench? Possible, but not necessarily stable.
  • Use a ladder? None was immediately available, but could probably be found somewhere…
  • Have Sabrina pull herself up long enough to hook the carabiners together? Perhaps, but not really that graceful, and while she’s a strong woman, the carabiners might not be all that easy to bring together.
  • Lift Sabrina on my shoulders (or RoughInamorato’s) long enough to hook the ‘biners? Again, not graceful.

As I stared at the problem, I kept on having the nagging feeling that there had to be a better way. About that time, RoughInamorato, noting my dilemma, cleared his throat.

“Um…I’m not a rope guy,” he said, and then pointed at the metal wheels above the carabiner on the hard point, “…but isn’t that a winch?” As in, a device made for easily raising and lowering rope.

Oh. Yeah. Right.

So I carefully unwrap the tie-off line, snap out the winch lock, lower the rope the three feet, and after connecting Sabrina she went aloft:

Here’s another of the full inversion, courtesy of the InstantExpert.

When the two of them were up, much fun was had (especially when given weapons of ass destruction. RoughInamorato and I agreed it was a triumph of the Lazy Dom Philosophy as we watched them paddle each other with screams and giggles).

But the thing is: I know, deep inside, that if he hadn’t've mentioned it, I would not have thought of it. I’ve been concentrating so much on simplicity that I would have completely missed the fact that there was a winch there.

So that’s my lesson learned, and I pass it on to you: when you can’t figure out how to do something, look again: it’s entirely possible that hey…that’s a winch.

Morpheous’ Book Released: “How to Be Kinky”

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

How to Be Kinky by Lord MorpheousLord Morpheous’ book is released! And even better, he has a kickass launch party planned at the same location as the upcoming Toronto GRUE!

It is shipping all last week so if you ordered it online from amazon.com it will come directly from the distrubution centre in the U.S.  I picked up a few copies of my own from my publisher yesterday and here is it is, featuring Toronto’s own fetish model Slinka on the cover.  All of my models I used, I want to express biggest thanks for helping make it a reality for me. It was a long year in the making and I am very pleased with the result.

So, if you are looking for your very own copy, you will be able to get it via book stores in your local city - in the U.S. Borders will be carrying it, (it is a little too racey for Barnes and Noble) here in Toronto, Northbound Leather and Come As You Are, as well as Seductions will all be carrying it.  Amazon.com of course has it and if you walk into a book store and they don’ t have it, you can order it through them using the ISBN # 978-1-931160-63-6  Price is $16.95 - a small price for such a valuable tome.

Now for the big news - the offical launch party for the book will be handled by Northbound Leather at their Sept 6 fetish party at Goodhandy’s Club downtown here in Toronto at Church and Richmond.  Doors open around 10pm, there is a dress code of fetish or play wear and a small cover.  There will also be copies of the book available for purchase exclusively by Northbound Leather at the club.  The stage show is something we are still working on but if you know Goodhandy’s Club then you know we will be able to have the wildest (as determined by the latest ruling of the Supreme Court of Canada) stage show EVER for a book launch!  Most of the models in the book will be at the launch to chat and dance as well I have some fetish models flying in from the States for it.

It is not to be missed!

The Curse of the 100 Nawashi!

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Ever wonder what 100 Nawashis looked like?

Here, let me show you:

100 copies of Nawashi

That’s right, I’ve just received 100 copies of my novel, Nawashi, to bring with me to various events that I’m traveling to in the next couple of months. Those events are:

If you’d like a book at any of those places, let me know in advance so I can bring a copy for you. I’d be more than happy to inscribe a copy for you, or whomever. I’ll also have a few CDs of the audiobook version in MP3 format. I’ve a lot fewer of those, so if you want one, now’s the time to let me know.
If you want an autographed copy and you’re not going to be going, well, I can still help you out - just click on that “donate” button on the front page and send $20 and it will appear on your doorstep. Or mailbox, or…well, you get the idea.

You will also be able to order copies directly from the publisher,  but they do actually lack that personal touch…what’s it about, you ask? Well, here, let me tell you:

Nawashi by GraydancerNAWASHI is an erotic urban fantasy, the story of a man who discovers that underneath the world of kink lies a global power struggle. Drawn into it , he struggles to develop his own rope magic and protect his family from the forces which now consider him a threat.

And what do others say about it? Glad you asked!

  • “Nobody does kinky deep-character-driven sex-magic urban fantasy like Graydancer.” — Steve Eley, Escape Pod
  • “I couldn’t stop reading this book! Graydancer seduces us down an erotic rabbit hole…a suspenseful and gratifying combination.” - Rita Seagrave, Kinkmogul.com
  • “The strength that Graydancer gives the womyn in this story is on par with how I feel womyn should be in erotica. Submissive is not stupid nor is it weak and Graydancer’s story illustrates this beautifully.”- Ms. Behavin, Foxy Veronica’s Peach Pies
  • “I’m completely and utterly hooked. It contains two of my favourite topics: BDSM and magic. Sure, I have read my share of non-fiction books and articles about both, separately and together, but never have found any fiction that addresses the topics so well, so naturally, so believably.” - Traeonna Wagener, co-author of Creating Magickal Entities

And for those who are wondering - yes, the sequel, Jujun, is currently in production at podiobooks.com, and will be launched any day now.

Sugasm #144

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

My “Anatomy of a Mindfuck” post made it into the new sugasm, but so did a lot of other great stuff. I especially enjoyed Audacia Ray’s encounter with the conservative world of banking and Marky D. Sade’s introduction (to me, anyway, since I’m late for the party) to the joys of Backdoor Bondage. Enjoy!

The Rearing Head of the One True Way

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I had the following comment on my ropecast blog, in reference to this picture:

It looks like you are doing a Demo here so it is perhaps forgivable, but if my sub ever put it’s hands on my Rope to pull itself up to ease it’s suffering like your white knuckled model is doing here…I would feel it my duty to make it very, very sorry for doing so. It would learn, it would remember, and it would NOT repeat this error.

Now, there are a lot of ways to respond to this - I confess, my visceral reaction is an indignant and self-righteous “Who the fuck are YOU to tell me how to run a scene?” But let’s be gracious and polite and use scalpels to dissect this beast, not harpoons and clubs.

How would you respond to that? Does he have a point? Is there an “accepted” way to run a rope suspension/scene? Come aboard the R.P.P. Ropecast group in Fetlife and let me know your thoughts…

The Final Picture on the Tree Shoot

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I wanted to make sure that it was ok with her, but Nyxx has agreed to let me post this last picture from the Tree Shoot Gallery (at the last Spankfest). Most of the other pictures were distance shots, showing the whole tableau (and they really put the “Oh!” in tableau) but this particular one showcases four things:

  • Nyxx is fucking gorgeous.*
  • Mistress Mayhem is fucking talented.**
  • Lqqkout is a great rigger.***
  • Spankfestival is the kind of a place where you can combine those first two things with incredible outdoor scenery and come up with shots…well, like this.

Thanks to both of you for sharing them with us all…

*She’s also fucking talented, but that’s not the point here.

**She’s also fucking gorgeous, but that’s not the point here.

***He’s also gorgeous and talented and a lucky bastard, but that’s…eh, you get the point.

My Brother is the Rigger for Hogtied!

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Lochai the New Guy on Hogtied!Congrats go to Lochai, my brother-in-arms, for his acquisition of the dream job: lead rigger & director at Hogtied.com. I would be jealous of him if I didn’t like him so damn much; as it is, I’m just really looking forward to seeing more of his work. Plus, maybe now I’ll finally get my interview with Peter Acworth for the Ropecast

The thing about Lochai is, he’s a natural-born perverted sadist. He doesn’t have to work at it - it just comes naturally to him, and that’s why he can seem like such a genuinely nice guy even as he’s causing beautiful people incredible pain. He is a genuinely nice guy…who also happens to get off on doing things like this. In the end, though, he ends up with this expression…and that’s why I admire him so.
