Thanks to searching amazon, I came up with a handfull of results almost entirely comprised of Samuel L. Jackson and really bad Kung-Fu flicks. Instead I downloaded the French version, and while I don’t parle the francais, I found the whole movie a bit compelling. Yes, the bondage scene is abbreviated and over in the first 15 minutes, leaving our hero to wind his way through a dark tale of blackmail and mayhem. Yes, the intricacies of the 15 minute dialog between the hero and his benefactors were lost on me, and a bit of a bore. But still, I came out on top knowing that I had survived with a deep enough understanding of the plot that I won’t have to watch it ever again, regardless wheter or not I find an English version.
As well, I have a penchant for really really bad Kung-Fu. Which made amazons dreadful search algorithms and suggested titles more of a boon than a bane.
