trying out some social apps today. You may notice on the sidebar there is now a “mychingo” device for you to leave audio comments on (if you have a mic on your computer). Gimme a shout out, somebody?

Also, while twitter didn’t do much for me, I thought I’d try out http://jaiku.com . If you try it out, add Graydancer to your contacts and let’s try some social telepresence.

Great comments from the last post, btw. My fave ropeweaver mentioned her surprise that Osada Steve, in performance, seemed to sacrifice precision. I suspect that’s more an aesthetic choice rather than a necessity, but maybe Lqqkout has more perspective?

What *is* the deal with Twitter? I’ve been trying it for a week or so now, and I really don’t see what all the fuss is about. The website is horribly slow and the badge is bulky and oversized, plus I get no enjoyment from posting such random comments. Well, perhaps Jaiku will be more fun? Thanks for yet another social network. ;)

Looking at Steves lineage it doesn’t surprise me sacrifices precision. After all he studied under Osada Eikichi and AFAIK that man was all about speed. And then there’s the whole kuzushi bondage thing which might play a role as well

Oooh! Your ‘fave’ ropeweaver. That works for me.

And, yes - I’d love some perspective. I should probably be clear that I’m not questioning or demeaning the tradeoff, whatsoever. It just wasn’t what I expected to see based on the (early stupid non-reality based) mental impression I’d made of what to expect from a Japanese master.
